Patent-Pending Engineering — Inside Every Panel
2″ × 4″ × 1/8″ Aluminum Compression Channel
The structural backbone of every PalmSHIELD Elite batten panel is the exclusive 4″ wide × 2″ deep × 1/8″ tapered aluminum compression channel. This patent-pending profile clamps the batten framework mechanically — no field welding at the seam, no field fabrication. Panels are factory-assembled to exact tolerances and arrive ready for installation.
Aluminum Wall Mount Sleeve
PalmSHIELD’s patent-pending wall mount sleeve — a 4″ wide × 2″ deep extruded aluminum extrusion — receives the compression channel and fastens to the existing wall via a 3/8″ × 16″ allen head bolt. The sleeve’s internal webbing and mechanical connection deliver a rigid, play-free mount that performs under wind loads. Components arrive pre-drilled.
2″ × 2″ × 1/8″ Aluminum Square Tube Battens
Each batten is a continuous 2″ × 2″ × 1/8″ extruded aluminum square tube in alloy 6063-T5, conforming to ASTM B 221 — no weld splices, no joints, no mid-span seams. The extruded profile maintains consistent geometry and uniform wall thickness across the full panel width, producing a finished screen surface that reads as architecturally considered.
Stainless Steel Fasteners Throughout
All panel-to-wall mount and panel-to-compression channel connections use stainless steel hardware — ¼” × 1″ stainless steel screws for panel attachment and 3/8″ stainless steel fasteners at the compression connection. All components are factory predrilled for precise field alignment. No on-site drilling of any finished panel component is required.
