Architectural Louvers
Architectural Louvers by PalmSHIELD
PalmSHIELD’s architectural louvers are what make our equipment screens the industry standard. Elegant and professionally crafted, these louvers permit airflow while maintaining 100% visual screening. The function of equipment screens is to protect HVAC units, cooling towers, dumpsters, etc. but also obscure them from public view. In fact, many progressive communities require property owners to hide certain items. At the same time, ventilation is essential for HVACs and other equipment that emits heat, vapor, and moisture. Our louvers, installed close together but with a degree of spacing, achieve all this — and do so with style! Besides high-tech welding equipment, PalmSHIELD’s team wields powder coating tools, allowing us to color your louvers to complement your building profile. PalmSHIELD is the only louvered architectural screen and wall manufacturer that provides a structural picture frame design, permitting greater flexibility spanning considerable widths and heights.

Here at PalmSHIELD, we recognize that no two installation sites are the same. While the need for architectural louvers apply across numerous industries (industrial parks, power plants, schools, restaurants, etc.), the surrounding building face that the screens must complement vary drastically. (You wouldn’t want to install generic gray louvers outside a store; a more appropriate choice would be our visually appealing diagonal Ajax option.)

FAQ
Why is architectural louvered screening necessary?
Progressive cities today require property managers to screen certain mechanical fixtures from public view. Although HVACs, transformers, cooling towers, etc. are essential to your building’s management, they visually clash with exteriors. Failure to hide these items from view can result in costly fines. Architectural louvers obscure these items from view without hindering their functionality. What’s more, screening out mechanical equipment helps prevent vandalism. PalmSHIELD is the top screening contractor, custom-manufacturing numerous screening and gate styles.
What is the design process for PalmSHIELD?
Here at PalmSHIELD, we custom-manufacture products according to the client’s needs. Our sales staff is knowledgeable and ready to advise if you’re undecided on which screen style is right for your needs and your budget. When you’ve decided on a product, the staff will ask for the measurements of your installation site. We’ll then provide a free quote on what the project will cost. CAD drawings will be produced, and once you give your approval on the drawings, we’ll fabricate the product in our state-of-the-art facility. Again, everything is made to fit the parameters of your job site.
What are my color options for architectural louvers?
PalmSHIELD uses powder coating equipment to custom coat screens to display any color of your choice. Obviously you don’t want generic gray screens protecting the rooftop equipment of, say, a restaurant, as that color clashes with the surrounding architecture and make the establishment less appealing to potential customers. But if you provide our staff with the colors that will surround your screens, we can coat the louvers to match/complement the building exterior.
What are my alignment options for architectural louvers?
Browsing our selection of architectural screens shows the three distinct louver alignment types: horizontal, vertical, and diagonal. Horizontal alignment, the most common type, is available in several panel styles, including but not limited to Atlas, Asia, and Aria. The vertical louvers of the Achilles style suits more unique building designs. And the eye-catching diagonal alignment, ideal for stores and other retail outlets (as they help grab the attention of passersby) is available in the Ajax style.
