How Rooftop Screens Benefit Rooftop Parties

Rooftop equipment screens are commonly installed to obscure and protect mechanical fixtures such as HVACs, solar panels, and transformers. The reasons are many. Physical barriers offer protection from high wind damage—as you don’t want items being damaged by gusts or, worse yet, torn from the roof. These screens also help save property owners from costly fines; many progressive communities today require you to obscure the above mentioned items from public view. However, there is a secondary benefit to installing these barriers on your rooftop perimeter.

Rooftops are common sites for company get-togethers. After a long day of hard work, employees and their supervisors—and their respective families and guests—can congregate in an area offering fresh air and spectacular views, and be liberated from the enclosed space of the office. Of course, given the high-elevation setting, it’s important to have safety measures. This is where rooftop screens offer a benefit unrelated to their primary function. By enclosing your rooftop perimeter with screens, you have a sturdy barrier to prevent accidental falls. The screens are firmly attached to the roof using rooftop rails, diagonal supports, and cantilevered supports. So they won’t break loose if someone leans against them.

Another benefit of rooftop screens for rooftop parties is increased privacy. Odds are your building is not the only tall structure in the vicinity, and you want to be able to mingle with your staff and co-workers in comfort. You don’t want people in neighboring buildings looking on and watching your festivities. These screens, in addition to sealing equipment from public view, also obscure your gatherings from public view.

Rooftop screens come in a variety of styles—and here at PalmSHIELD, everything is custom-fabricated according to the specific needs of the customer. Our classic louvered screens provide necessary airflow for mechanical equipment (check out this blog to learn why this is important) while also shielding contained items from view. Ventilation is likewise important for areas where you’ll be hosting your gatherings—to preserve air quality for your employees and their guests.

If ventilation is not such an issue—and if display is tantamount—look no further than our LED Backlit panels. This option uses laser technology to carve unique custom patterns through the panel surface, so that light cast from LEDs through an internal layer of acrylic can emit an attractive light display. This helps with representative purpose (e.g., company logos) and attracts customers and passersby. It also results in a more appealing party zone, as everyone can enjoy the display—especially if the LEDs alternate between colors!
