Mechanical Equipment Screens, Faux Concrete Style
When it comes to architectural and mechanical equipment screens, your best option is to hire a contractor offering a broad spectrum of products. After all, the needs for screening vary—from personal to professional to mandatory—with height, width, and type factoring into which contractor can best accommodate you. Here at PalmSHIELD, diversity is a major selling point, hence our vast options on custom-built panels—everything from dumpster enclosures to panels that obscure rooftop fixtures.
Our decades in the business have taught us this: in some circumstances, traditional louvered screening simply will not suffice. On more than one occasion our customers have requested products that not only hide necessary items from public view but also match nearby building exteriors. For example: horizontal aluminum bars stand out noticeably—distractingly—against concrete walls. In this scenario, one needs screening that superficially resembles concrete. Dealing with this situation yourself? Check out our Faux Concrete mechanical equipment screens, and our new YouTube video on this product line, posted at the top of this page!
PalmSHIELD has partnered with Texture Plus®, a reputable manufacturer specializing in lightweight yet realistic-looking infill that simulates the appearance of everything from masonry to stones. When clients request screening capable of blending into concrete backgrounds, we recommend Texture Plus® Faux Concrete infill. Despite the uncanny resemblance to the material of its namesake, this infill’s truthfully fashioned from lightweight polymer. Capable of resisting insect damage and weather-caused erosion, the polymer’s set between our custom-made frames. Affordable and long-lasting—yet not as heavy and burdensome as actual hardened cement.
The team at Texture Plus® has gone all-out in matching the appearance of concrete, capturing not only the general texture but also the shading one expects of hardened cement. So whether you want infill resembling blocks, smooth concrete, or roughly textured masonry, we can help! Check out the six infill styles available for this product:
Split Face Concrete. In addition to capturing the shape and grooves of concrete blocks, this infill boasts an appealing rough and rugged texture. All in lieu of the time-consuming difficulty inherent with actual masonry. The Split Face Concrete infill comes in two colors: Gray and Prime Unfinished.
Smooth. Installing gigantic blocks of concrete requires special equipment and many hours of labor. But with these Smooth mechanical equipment screens, you retain the aesthetic appearance of solid concrete—minus the long hours and expense of labor. This infill type is available in White, Natural Gray, and Prime Unfinished.
Beach Sand. This screening type’s ideal for pool and beach settings. Imagine cement with the texture of sand peppered with the occasional “bubble” to make it more organic and natural-looking. That is the Beach Sand panel infill. This infill type is available in Prime Unfinished and Beach Sand.
Rough. There’s a certain charm to concrete paved into a functional block form but with grooves and bumps left intact on the surface. For some venues, this “unpolished” look is ideal. If this aesthetic best suits your building, look no further than the Rough mechanical equipment screens available here at PalmSHIELD. Comes in Natural Gray, Silver Gray, and Prime Unfinished.
Asphalt. The beauty of traditional asphalt comes with a few installation drawbacks, namely the physical labor and the sticky mess that one must get their equipment into. However, these Asphalt panels do away with those hindrances—consisting of polymer engineered and colored to resemble the material of its namesake. Available in Prime Unfinished and Black.
Cinder Block. Cinder blocks—or concrete masonry units—are a staple of construction. If you have a building exterior composed of such blocks, you’ll naturally need a similar-looking screening. This Cinder Block infill comes in Natural Gray and Prime Unfinished.
